- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring optional

Instructions:
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt
In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy
Beat in the egg, then mix in the milk and vanilla extract
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined
Cover the dough and refrigerate for about 1 hour
Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Roll the chilled dough into small balls and place them on the baking sheet
Use your finger or the back of a round utensil to create a small hole in the center of each cookie, shaping them into donut-like rings
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are set
Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth
Add food coloring if desired
Dip the tops of the cooled cookies into the glaze and decorate with sprinkles while the glaze is still wet
Allow the glaze to set before enjoying your delicious donut cookies!
